Perito Moreno is the head of Lago Buenos Aires area, located near the southern shore of Lake Buenos Aires, The environment is shaped by the Andes and the Meseta del Lago Buenos Aires. Its population is around 4000 inhabitants. The town is located in the southern tourist corridor, an obligatory stop for travelers along National Route 40 in Argentina to or from El Calafate, El Chalten, Torres del Paine, Ushuaia, Bariloche Lago Posadas and Puerto Madryn in the Atlantic Ocean , and to or from Villa O'Higgins, Coihaique, Castro and Puerto Montt  on the Carretera Austral in Chile. Located just  55  kilometers from Los Antiguos and  75km  to Chile Chico, Perito Moreno is the gateway to the Cueva de las Manos, Lago Posadas, Monte Zeballos and road Austral (Chile). Perito Moreno as its neighbor Los Antiguos, is surrounded by many  farms, producing bitter fruit: cherries, strawberries, raspberries, currant, apple. The city developed in East-West, with countless groves of pines, willows and poplars that stand out among the gabled roofs so typical of the Patagonian cities. The Bus Terminal is located out of town. In the village there is no line urban buses, the transportation are the  remis / taxi, and is necessary to phone or take it in the city center, on Avenida San Martin ( usual stops of drivers,  drugstores  or bars). Perito Moreno has two   banks; Santa Cruz and the Banco de la Nacion Argentina, both operate with ATM network link, the hours are from 08 AM to 01 PM, Monday through Friday, it is possible all normal banking transactions and  foreign exchang. There is  public telephone shops for make national and  international calls, and also provide Internet connection service. There is a state post office (Correo Argentino)  and different private couriers.  There is a  range of  activities around Perito Moreno, we cited the visit to the Cueva de las Manos,   Posadas lake and the road to Monte Zeballos,  trout fishing on Lake Buenos Aires or in the surrounding rivers. The main street is the Avenida San Martín, which crosses the city from one end to another dividing it into two equal parts. Along this avenue,  are located some operators and tourist agents, restaurants and accommodations.
