What to do in El Chalteb, navigations

 

.Season: from + -  october to april.
.Departures: Daily. One departure in the morning and one in the afternoon.
.Lasts: + -  2,3 hours
.Dificultty: None. Suitable for all ages.
.Physical Requirements: It is aimed at people in good physical condition, used to moderate walks on uneven terrain.
.Tourist guide enabled by the the Glaciers National Park.
.Snack on board
. Optional transfers to and from Tunnel bay (17 km.)
.Outfit: Sport shoes or trekking boots. Comfortable sports wear, long trousers, warm sweater or pile, water or windproof jacket, sun glasses, sun block, gloves.

 

You will sail South across the bay. The lake’s depth allows for a pleasant cruise near the shoreline, permitting the observation of the mountains Fitz Roy and Huemul. Upon arriving Cape Horn (Southeast end of the Ventisqueros Field), the vessel turns West and you will be taken aback by the magnificent view of the Viedma glacier. 
You will sail along the glacier’s front wall, and spot large icebergs, whose walls may rise up to 40 meters over the lake level.  
During this excursion, our guides will give informative talks on glaciology which will enable you to understand more clearly the glaciers’ behavior. After watching the glacier, you will return to Bahía Túnel.
