At 22 km from Chaiten, are located the Amarillo hot springs, reached by a detour on the Austral road, before the southern entrance to the Pumalin National Park.
The hot springs are in an area of ??4 hectares, are open all year round and an accessible entrance fee must be paid. It has dressing rooms,
showers, and pools of different size and temperature, its thermal waters have a high sulfur content with regenerative properties, and are surrounded by a luxuriant vegetation, a brook with Christian waters and mountains.
In the surroundings of the Baths there are numerous campsites and camping areas, among which s highlight the camping El Amarillo,
Campsite Puente Carlos Alvarado and the camping Volver del Rio.
The way to arrive without a vehicle is with the regular bus to Palena or Futaleufú and stop at the thermal baths or organized excursions in Chaiten half day or
full day, combining with the ascent to the Chaiten volcano or Yelcho glacier and in the afternoon relax a few hours in the Amarillo hot springs.
